his brother Vuk, of what [the two of them] offered to God and to the Most Pure [Mother of God] for glory, and as a gift to the Holy Great Martyr of Christ Panteleimon, and for themselves as an eternal memorial and for the remission of sins - all that they offered, with all its rights, is inscribed above in this charter. For this reason I too confirm and sign, establishing that no one may take anything of what is inscribed above in this charter.
And if anyone, puffed up with the envy of the devil and with evil greed, should begin to destroy and take anything from this charter, may the Lord God withdraw His mercy from such a one, both here, in his earthly life, and in his life after death. And may he have no part in the Body and Blood of Christ. And may the curse written above be fulfilled upon him. And, to put it simply, may he be accursed by God and by me, both here, in his earthly life, and in his life after death. And anathema.
Danilo, by the grace of God the most holy Patriarch of all the Serbs and of the Maritime lands
The Second Copy of the Charter to the Monastery of Saint Panteleimon - Rusikon (the Year 1400)
... neither voivode, nor kephale, nor court keeper, nor čelnik, nor anyone else of the ruling men in our land [is free to com]mand, [but] only the monastery's diakonit; [all that has been offered] we have likewise freed from the building of town walls, from watch duty, from cartage, from porterage, from building labor, from military service, from provisioning, from falconry service, from hunting service, from the duty of hospitality, as well as from the food levy, the sasad, the priselica and the pritražica. And let [the people of the grant] not be judged elsewhere, [but] only before our čelnik. And all that we have offered we have confirmed by this most illustrious charter with the golden seal. And we beseech and adjure him whom God shall be pleased to set up to rule after us - either one of our kin or someone else - that this [which is written] not be seized, but rather confirmed.
And if anyone, through the envy of the devil, should dare to destroy what is written above, may the Lord God and His Most Pure Mother destroy such a one. And may the power of the venerable and life-giving Cross bring him to ruin. And may he be accursed by the 12 Chief Apostles and by the 318 God-bearing Fathers who were at Nicaea. And may he be numbered with Judas and Arius. And may the Holy Great Martyr of Christ Panteleimon be his avenger.
And this most illustrious charter was written in the year 6908 (1400), in the month of June, on the 8th day. in the town of Novo Brdo.
